a city where anything is possible. sunbathing on beautiful secluded beaches a 20 minute ferry ride away to skiing in one of the world’s greatest ski resorts all in the same day. the city used to be for just the sporty type, but vancouver is now swarming with some of the best restaurants & experiences in the world..it really is the city with everything, especially a lot of sunshine!

for the real chinatown head over to richmond now instead! you'll find asian themed restaurants, shopping malls and some of the best asian cafés
save your data roaming and connect to #vanwifi for free wifi across the city

GETTING AROUND

skytrain (which is like the subway/underground) - single tickets give you 1.5 hr travel time to use on train and buses (although its not advertised)
the city is small so walking everywhere makes the most sense. make sure you avoid the downtown eastside (dtes) or at least be careful when walking through
scenery outside vancouver is spectacular and only 20 mins drive to mountains, hiking routes etc.

WHERE TO STAY

check out padmapper.com for short or long term apartment rentals
kitsilano is our favourite area to stay. kits has the best beaches and a super chilled local vibe. and you're in walking distance to granville island and downtown
commercial drive is also a great area to stay packed with boutique shops, restaurants and bars
