TIPS

GENERAL

make sure you spend a few days in the area incase of weather conditions for your balloon flight. also, make sure you get picked up at the earlier time slot for the hot air balloons so you catch the sunrise (there are 2 balloon slots)
the direction of the wind for balloon spotting is really hit and miss, take a taxi for 500tl (prebook for an early pick up) and they can drive you around to the best spots for pictures Previous
make sure you visit the underground city, it was our biggest highlight (even more than the balloons!)

GETTING AROUND

göreme and uçhisar are about a 10 min drive from each other but you can’t walk it. a taxi should be about 90 tl between both places
kayseri airport to uçhisar should cost you 750-1000 tl
book a private transfer to take you around to see the major sites, the organised tours are great but with the private transfer you get to see more in 1 day! message us for contact details of the best tour guide & driver Previous

WHERE TO STAY

uçhisar is quieter with the most beautiful views as it’s a higher point and göreme is more commercialised but has no views because of where it’s located Previous
mak’s cave is our favourite independent hotel, with a conservatory, terrace & the most beautiful rooms - super reasonably priced too! message us for contact details of the owner
uçhisar hotels are more luxurious and you will get more for your money rather than in göreme
